About My Research

My Honours project investigates how different sugarcane farming and management practices affect soil macro- and mesofaunal communities, using data collected from pitfall traps in Zambia’s sugarcane-growing regions. Soil biodiversity remains poorly documented in many southern African agricultural systems, and this study contributes to addressing that gap. Through this study, I aim to better understand how land use practices affect soil biological activity and community composition.
